Cherry Blossoms and New Beginnings: Embracing Spring’s Transitions
Cherry blossoms remind us that beauty is fleeting, yet each ending brings a new beginning. Celebrate spring’s changes with creativity, connection, and inspiration.

March through April is a time of both meeting and parting in Japan. It’s when cherry blossoms bloom in full glory, painting the world in soft pink—but also when they begin to fall, gently reminding us that all things are fleeting.
Every time I see cherry blossoms, I feel a mix of emotions: nostalgia, excitement, and a touch of sadness. They bloom so beautifully, yet their petals fall so quickly. In Japan, it’s common to receive a rejection letter that begins with “Falling cherry blossoms…” What a poetic culture, right? Even in disappointment, there’s beauty.
But once the petals have fallen, something new begins. Lush green leaves emerge, or seeds quietly start to form. There’s no time to stay melancholy for long—nature moves forward, and so do we.
Spring is a very special time for Japanese people. It marks the beginning of a new school year, a new job, a new chapter in life. That’s why people gather under the cherry trees to enjoy food, laughter, and each other’s company. It’s not just a celebration of the season—it’s a way to boost morale and welcome change.
In this spirit, let’s embrace spring together. Through flowers and creative expression, we can plant new seeds of inspiration and watch something beautiful grow.
